Robin West

Robin West has been the Canadian Director of the Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) since 2006. Prior to this, he was Executive Vice Chair of the Canadian Council for 11 years and a senior officer within the ATU Local 508 Halifax for over 22 years. From 1996 to 2006, he held the role of General Vice President for the Nova Scotia Federation of Labour.
Robin has been involved in the transportation industry for more than 27 years, after he began his career as a bus operator with Metro Transit in Halifax, Nova Scotia. A member of the Canadian Pension & Benefits Institute and the Canadian Labour Congress, Robin also serves on the Board of Directors for the Motor Carrier Passenger Council of Canada (MCPCC). For 18 years, he was a Pension Plan Trustee for what is now the Halifax City Pension Plan and has recently been appointed to the advisory committee to the OMERS Sponsors Corporation representing the ATU.
