Metrolinx is working to provide residents and businesses in the Greater Toronto & Hamilton Area (GTHA) with a transportation system that is modern, efficient and integrated.
GO Transit is Canada’s first, and the Province of Ontario’s only, interregional public transportation service for the GTHA, carrying 57 million passengers a year.
The Government of Ontario, GO Transit and nine municipal transit partners in the GTHA and in Ottawa, have come together to design, develop and implement a seamless regional transit fare card system.
Metrolinx will build, own and operate the Air Rail Link (ARL) from Union Station to Pearson Airport by 2015. The ARL will provide a premium express rail shuttle service for business people and travellers.
The Metrolinx Board of Directors met on January 9.
